Colorado Springs Zoom Whitening
Most people would like to brighten their smile. Many who try to do something about it themselves are disappointed after waiting to see the results of teeth whitening strips or whitening toothpaste. While over-the-counter products may remove surface stains, over the years, as we consume coffee, tea, colas, highly-pigmented fruits, tobacco, red wine, and more, those substances penetrate our teeth and stain them on the inside. Additionally, while we are young and our teeth are still forming, if we consume tetracycline or certain other antibiotics, or excessive fluoride, our teeth may become discolored. But with Zoom!® in-office teeth whitening, in just over one hour, you can experience professional whitening and receive permanent, brilliant results!
Our professional teeth whitening treatments penetrate your teeth to lighten discolorations caused by coffee, cigarettes, foods, medication, or aging. You’ll notice the difference immediately. So will everyone else, and the results are permanent. The Zoom!® Whitening System is the tooth whitening procedure used by professionals on the TV program Extreme Makeover. It’s safe, effective, and very fast. In just over an hour, your teeth will be dramatically whiter.
How Does Zoom Work?
The Zoom Whitening procedure is simple and painless. Your lips are retracted to expose your teeth and ensure that the whitening gel is applied only to your teeth.
For added protection, your lips are covered, and your gums are coated to protect them from the whitening gel.
Our hygienist applies the proprietary gel. Then, a specially-designed light will be used to activate the gel and help it penetrate your teeth.
Teeth typically become at least six to ten shades whiter, sometimes more, and a five-minute fluoride treatment completes the procedure. You’ll be amazed with the results, as you leave our office with a smile that is strikingly white.

The Zoom light-activated gel was developed after years of research by Discus Dental, the leaders in professional take-home tooth whitening. The gel is a scientifically formulated, pH balanced hydrogen peroxide that, when activated by the light, gently penetrates the teeth to remove deep stains and discoloration. With proper care and an occasional touch-up at home, your whiter smile will sparkle for years.
Who May Benefit from Zoom Whitening?
Almost anyone can benefit from Zoom; however, results will vary. Dental work such as bonding or crowns will not be affected by whitening. We can determine if you are a candidate for this treatment through an oral exam that includes a teeth-shade assessment.
Is Zoom Teeth Whitening Safe?
Yes, extensive research and clinical studies indicate that whitening teeth under the supervision of a dentist is safe. In fact, many dentists consider teeth whitening the safest cosmetic dental procedure available. As with any teeth whitening procedure, it is not recommended for children under 13 years of age and pregnant or lactating women.
How Long Do the Results Last?
By following some simple post-teeth whitening care instructions, your teeth will always be lighter than they were before. You may need touch-ups using home bleaching trays every six months or as the doctor recommends. You can also repeat the Zoom treatment in our office as prescribed. For patients who keep up-to-date with checkups, we offer the Whitening for Life program.
