COLORADO SPRINGS PEDIATRIC DENTIST

If you’re looking for a pediatric dentist in Colorado Springs, Dr. Rota is a general dentist who loves treating children. Parents enjoy the convenience of being able to bring their children to the same dentist for comprehensive dental care.
WHAT IS A PEDIATRIC DENTIST?
A pediatric dentist has completed two years of post-graduate training to specialize in treating children and handicapped patients. While Dr. Rota is not a pediatric dentist specialist, his dental school training included a rotation in the pediatric dentistry clinic, caring for children’s basic dental needs. In the event that your child has needs that will require the services of a specialist, Dr. Rota will refer you to one.
OUR KID FRIENDLY TEAM
We want kids to have good memories of their dental appointments so they can maintain good oral hygiene as adults. We make their visits fun and relaxing. Our staff members and our two dogs and talking macaw provide a friendly welcome. Kids can even hold the macaw. The animals are entertaining and help provide a relaxed environment.
BUILD EXCITEMENT FOR DENTAL VISITS
A child’s first visit should be around age two as primary molars begin to erupt. Our advice is not to be overly anxious about the appointment. Your child will sense your anxiety and likely become nervous, too. Instead, try to build excitement. Help your child to view going to the dentist as a fun outing to ensure their teeth are clean, healthy, and pretty.
We strive to create positive dental experiences in several ways:
- We welcome you to bring your children with you to your dental appointments so they can get acquainted with our staff and office environment and see you have a pleasant, painless visit.
- During your child’s dental visit, you can come into the treatment room.
- We use easy-to-understand language to explain what’s happening and why, and which dental tools we’ll use next.
- If your child is anxious or afraid, we won’t force them to continue with dental treatment. It’s better to reschedule an appointment than to create bad memories about dental visits.
HELPING YOUR CHILD MAINTAIN GOOD ORAL HEALTH
We’ll give you tips on helping your child develop good oral hygiene habits, and we track their progress. At age 7 or 8, children should be able to brush and floss their own teeth. You can check their teeth, compliment them for doing a good job, and coach them when improvement is needed. We use dental sealants to protect molar teeth from decay and fluoride treatments to strengthen teeth.
We welcome you to visit Rota Advanced Dental Care to see why so many families trust us for their children’s dental care.
Dr. Rota is patient and gentle, and he truly listens. He is amazing with our 3- and 5-year-old girls. His technology is beyond any dentist I’ve seen, allowing him to foresee potential problems and address them before they become serious and turn into huge expenses. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Rota and his staff. They truly are the best, and I recommend him to everyone I know! – Lisa F.
