I’m a candidate for dental implants and was looking into the prices online. However, most dental websites don’t post this information. Why is that? I’m looking for an affordable implant dentist, and don’t want to waste the dentist’s time if they’re out of my price range. I also would like to comparison shop before making a final decision.

If dentists do not have their price information posted online, feel free to call and ask. The dentist or the staff should be able to give you a ballpark range of prices (though this is not a guarantee). Checking the price points of a few local dentists on common procedures like routine cleanings, a posterior crown, or how much a two-surface composite filling on a back tooth would cost is a good way to compare them.
Avoid any dentists that have fees that seem too low or too high compared to others in your area. The most expensive option is not always best, but you do not want to choose a dentist that may cut corners, either. Even though you’re searching for an affordable dentist to do your implants, aim to pay the going rate, or a little above.
Dentists who do post their prices online may be willing to compete against other dentists for your business. Over-eager salesmanship is usually a red flag to avoid in a dentist. Some dentists, such as Dr. Rota, have pages that breakdown the cost of dental implants, as a way of informing the patient.
Also, once you have the price information, be sure to check reviews. You do not want someone unreliable or untrustworthy to place your implants, even if they have the best price in town.
