I have a new dentist. I moved here recently, so I had to find a new one. I haven’t had a cavity in 10 years. This dentist says that I have 4. This is very hard for me to believe because I floss and brush my teeth three times a day. I keep floss in the glove compartment of my car. I am very conscious about taking care of my teeth. When I left the office last week, I was asked to schedule an appointment to have the cavities filled. Should I go ahead with this or question it? Sean
Sean – We understand your concern. If you are uncomfortable with the diagnosis, you can see another dentist for a second opinion. It certainly won’t hurt.
If the second dentist agrees with your current dentist, you can have confidence in getting the recommended treatment. If the second dentist disagrees, you can decide if you want to continue with your new dentist or find another one.
