I have chipped 2 teeth and I am going to my dentist to make sure that I didn’t damage them. Well I didn’t make the appointment yet. If my dentist can’t correct my teeth will she refer me to a cosmetic dentist? Or is this something that I should go straight to a cosmetic dentist for? Will a cosmetic dentist know if I did more damage that what I can see? Amelia
Amelia – A cosmetic dentist is a general dentist. You should check the training and experience of a cosmetic dentist to ensure that he or she really has artistic ability to beautifully restore teeth.
Although a general dentist may be able to fill in the chips on your teeth, only a skilled cosmetic dentist has the experience and materials required to ensure that the restoration is completely natural looking. A cosmetic dentist will be able to both examine your teeth for additional trauma and beautifully restore your teeth.
