I was crunching on ice and one of my back teeth split on half. It’s still in the socket but I can still see it’s cracked. I HATE going to the dentist. What is going to happen if I wait a bit to go? The tooth is not hurting at all. I am shaking thinking about what needs to be done to fix it. 🙁 Thanks Timmy
Timmy – You need to make an appointment with a dentist right away so that you don’t completely lose your tooth. It is possible that the tooth was weak before it cracked. If the pulp of your tooth is dead, you won’t feel pain in it.
A dentist may be able to save your tooth, but you need to get help immediately. If you are terribly anxious, the dentist can give you a mild anti-anxiety medication to relax you during the appointment. He or she will also numb the affected area to prevent you from feeling any pain.
Get help right away.
