A Dental Implant replaces your natural tooth from the root up. When correctly placed, it will look and feel just like a healthy tooth. The procedure begins by having a titanium implant attached to the root of your jawbone. As your jaw heals the bone will re-grow around the implant making it as stable as a tooth root. When the healing process is completed a new crown will be placed on top of the implant and you will go home with a natural and healthy smile.

Dental Implant Bridge

There are cases where patients are missing many teeth. If that is the case, it is not necessary to have a replacement implant for eacIllustration of a dental bridgeh missing tooth. Instead you can have a bridge placed. For an entire arch of teeth you can have anywhere from one implant placed for each tooth, to the other extreme of  just two implants per arch. It is completely up to you. Bear in mind the greater the number of implants, the greater stability you will get with your bridge. At your consultation, we can help you determine what is best for your smile and your budget.

Advantages of Dental Implants

Though some people choose removable dentures for budgetary reasons, there are some real advantages to getting implants even with the additional cost. In the short term, removable dentures are cheaper, there is no disputing that. However, there are some important considerations to review before making a decision. Not only are implants more comfortable because they don't move around and there is nothing for food to get under, but there is the added security of not having to worry about them slipping out in public. Above all that, however, implants protect you from a serious condition known as facial collapse. If you've had all your teeth extracted, your body begins to absorb your lower jaw and mandible. You won't notice anything the first few years, but after a while you will have a noticeably "collapsed" face. In some cases it can get so severe that there will be no possibility of getting implants in the future, without having a bone grafting procedure done. Doing it right from the start will prevent all of these issue. Contact our office today and we'll help you determine if you are a candidate.
